Capron is one of eleven new Board members named in the past year. These executives join an impressive group of influential business and civic leaders, dedicated to the increase of financial literacy among the youth of Greater Washington. They serve to provide guidance and support to the mission of JA in this market and to helping the next generation become financially fit for life.
Junior Achievement is the world’s largest organization dedicated to educating youth about financial literacy, work readiness, and entrepreneurship through experiential, hands-on programs. In academic year 2009-2010, Junior Achievement reached 9.8 million youth in 123 countries. Since 1919, JA has been the recognized leader in developing and delivering age-appropriate curriculum to help youth develop life skills and gain an understanding of business and economics. Junior Achievement of the National Capital Area will reach over 53,000 students in academic year 2011-2012 through in-classroom and after-school programs.
“The commitment of area business leaders such as these is crucial for the success of Junior Achievement programs,” said Ed Grenier, President and CEO of Junior Achievement of the National Capital Area. “Through the support of local leaders in the business and education communities, we are able to better prepare young people for their lives as successful adults.”
Aronson has a rich history with Junior Achievement. Aronson employees volunteer with the program to help young people learn how to gain a basic understanding of financial topics and how they can build a successful future.
